Thread: Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015

  1. I can build my own settlement! Nice. I agree that the game doesn't necessarily scream next gen though. It looks about as refined over Fallout 3 as Skyrim did over Oblivion, and considering this is next gen, that's not impressive at all.

  2. Yay Doom!

Fallout I'll get on sale at some point I guess.

I need to get a new graphics card.DOOM is going to eat up my 760.

  4. I don't know why when people remember old-school Doom, it always comes out like some kind of Painkiller/Serious Sam thing, and not a game with a lot of exploration and switch/key puzzles. Still new thing looks like potential ultraviolent fun.

    I don't think you've played Fallout 3 recently.

  6. Quiet, he's too busy pissing and moaning.

  7. Because the switch key stuff was the lamest parts. Also, it's tightly packed corridors with weighty killing, not the floaty, every room is a giant open space with suicidal enemies that those other games you mentioned are.

  8. I disagree that the exploration aspect of Doom was lame. It's one of the main things I miss about 90s FPS. They were packed with secrets, and not so linear. It's kind of ironic that the genre has gotten so small and narrow as technology advanced.

Doom was both those things. Whack-a-mole and exploration in equal measure. I'd love Doom-the-new-one to be like that but I know it's going to be a whole lot of corridors in different shapes and sizes leading you by the nose.
