I know that Shelly Duvall the actress was directed to be a shrieking, sobbing mess and pulled it off with aplomb, yes.

I understood why the ficitional character Wendy Torrance's husband wanted to bash her brains right the fuck in, though.

Starship Troopers. That girl with the big lips really stunk up every scene she was in.

She didn't ruin the entire movie, however. Starship Troopers is still great.
