, then then there would be no correlation. Fatal stabbings and other means of murder aren't any higher in states with strict gun laws.
They did go up in the UK and Australia after stricter laws were put in place though.

You keep saying this but the overall trend has been a massive decrease in murder in Australia, which has almost a quarter the murder rate per 100,000 of the US. The way you keep wording this is misleading, even if its unintentional. I don't think the murder rate directly correlates to gun laws, in fact I don't think there is any single variable that would have a direct correlation, it is just one of the many factors that may contribute to it, much like the many other factors you've previously pointed out.
