China's gonna get us all killed.
China has a fake economy, propped up by central government and easy credit. If one were to audit any of the Chinese banks, they would not be solvent by any international standards. I have not even started to discuss their history of human rights (tanks but no tanks).
China's gonna get us all killed.
If nothing else, I feel that they would be mainly responsible for the next financial crisis and drag the world into a recession.
next financial crisis, deadly illnesses and the cause of most large mammal extinctions.
We are all going to die because of their lost generation.
I agree in principle, but in experience it seems like pennies on the dollar going to actual recipients is highly tolerated because most folks don't have to think about it. They're being charitable without the work. Then, when they are told a program is failing, and the only way to save it and really help people is more money, they agree and go along. Because for someone who cares enough about the idea, but feels research, accountability, etc. is just too much work, they'll go along with it.
So I feel like the amount of involvement *is* tied to effectiveness.
Does that mean we should do more or less of it? Because the implication of your point is that we stopped taking that money from people in taxes and using it for state and fed welfair....people wouldn't do anything if only because of time investment or laziness.
