    The question of "what is human" is far more interesting when they are part machine and part human.When they are humans grown in machines with slight alterations to DNA, much of that debate vanishes and instead you're left with a boring dystopia where a company can hold ownership over humans because of copyright and ambiguous interpretations on what constitutes citizenship. Stories about the Ship of Theseus are far more interesting than "hey, capitalism is dicks"

    The story has very little to do with corporate slavery and more to do with the human condition. The replicants are given human emotion and with that they are self aware that they are going to die at a specific time, no matter what they do. The replicants are reacting (like a human) to the dire situation they are put into and are looking for a way to live longer. It's like if a doctor told you that you had cancer, and that you would die in 4 years. Would you not try to find a way to survive, no matter what you had been told?

    Yes, that is what I said, to contrast the book and movie. It is not an argument for what the movie is.

    Also, yes, the movie is a bullshit discussion on capitalism. You can like other parts of the movie, but that doesn't change what any of the underlining political or social commentary implied by the premise.

    The movie has nothing to do with capitalism, and that is where you are lost on what exactly the movie is trying to convey.

    The creation of replicants was a part of capitalism, but that is not what the story was about. The story was about self awareness, and how the Nexus 6 was a self aware entity. The relationship with Deckard and Rachael touched on so many things like prejudice (skin jobs) and human emotions in an artificial life. Citing capitalism as a central point of the film is just so wrong.
