Thread: Starfield

  1. Talked to my buddy who really likes a lot of Bethesda stuff/immersive sims and he's actually pretty mixed on the whole thing.

I'm sure I'll probably still check it out next time I renew Game Pass, but don't feel like I'm missing out on too much after all.

  2. This game starts out like a lot of Bethesda's games. The 1st several hours will be just you exploring and getting to grips with how the game progresses. The game started to grown on me at a little over 24 hours of gameplay. I stopped focusing on the main missions, pick up some side missions and worked out special missions for Sarah. This is pretty much Skyrim in space, with a dash of fallout and Mass Effect. Pretty much 3 franchises I really loved playing.

  3. This comes as a shocker. Starfield is coming to PS5.

Starfield released back in August of 2023 to fairly positive reception (despite the narrative that now exists online), and was the biggest Bethesda game launch of all time, surpassing 6 million players within a week of release.

Now it looks as though Microsoft are planning on bringing Betheda’s newest RPG universe to an entirely new platform – PlayStation 5.

According to sources, we understand that currently Microsoft are planning a launch for Starfield on PlayStation 5 post the release of the already announced “Shattered Space” expansion for Xbox and PC, which is on target to arrive at some point later this year. We’ve also been informed that Microsoft have made additional investment into PlayStation 5 dev kits to support ongoing development efforts – adding further fuel to the fire.

  4. This kinda bums me out. Not b/c I don't want Xbox games on other platforms but b/c the Xbox ecosystem is the one I play on. I prefer their console OS, their backwards compatibility initiative, their controller. My digital catalog and saved games are on their ecosystem. If they leave the hardware market, I don't think they can just transfer my licenses over to PC. If Xbox starts releasing all of their games on all platforms.... do you need Xbox hardware? I don't enjoy playing on PC and not really into Playstation... I wonder what the actual outcome will be.
