Thread: Pierce Brosnan starring in new 007 game

  1. Pierce Brosnan starring in new 007 game

    Brosnan. ...Pierce Brosnan.

Although a new James Bond movie, named Die Another Day, will soon be released to theatres, an entirely original James Bond video game is currently under development. An agreement has been reached today between Pierce Brosnan and Electronic Arts that will allow EA to use Brosnan's IMAGE AND LIKENESS (Yes, he is God) in their upcoming James Bond game - James Bond 007: Nightfire.

The game has an original storyline, but it is set in the usual Bond universe. It will be released everywhere during the same month as the newest 007 film. (Of course, they've managed to forget to tell us WHICH month that is. Gee, thanks a lot.) Nightfire will be released simultaneously on the Playstation 2, GameCube, Xbox, and PC.

Nightfire will feature 10 exotic locations from around the globe and even outer space, and will star many familiar and original villains and allies, including the obligatory sexy ladies (YAY!!!).

    Look for it... sometime soon.

  2. The only thing I don't like most about the Bond series is that every time a new film/game comes out, it feels like the same old, done that type of plot with a different style of flash to keep the story interesting (remotely). My hope is that one of these days, a new writer with the intention of making the story a little "something different" while keeping things intense would help settle with that feeling that's become ever so stale over the years.
So now we have Pierce's face plastered on the current Bond we're playing, maybe we'll also get his accent and voice-overs to go with the deal. Anyhow, I'd like to see the option to choose which former Bond actor could also be used during the game like we did in goldeneye (sorta, the portraits were there, but they never had the complete models of the charaters )
don't wanna tangle with you, I'd rather tangle with him.
I think I'm gonna bash his head in...

  3. I can understand totally where you're coming from...but to the credit of the last edition (Agent Under Fire), that was a relatively original theme. After all, Bond has been around how many years, it's amazing that the level of originality has went on this long.

I guess that's the danger of developing video games, unlike a movie which offers a greater window for story development (yea, an excuse at best...but that's my take on it).

Pierce's involvement definitely sounds like a marketing ploy if I've ever heard one, but if this serves to enrich the newest installment, then I am all for it. Perhaps they'll get Halle in there to do a few voice overs.

That option about the various Bond actors would make a great bonus.

As for the character models, they're great, much better than those in Goldeneye, but even so...they're not nearly as smooth and lifelike as they potentially good be. I don't think it'd be asking too much to get the same graphic integrity as featured in MGS2 for example. By far, such a level of realism would truly make someone take notice and be wholly impressed with the overall package.

Ren: I believe the game is scheduled for an August release. I'd have to refer to my documentation which is tucked away somewhere.

  4. I always wanted to play as George Lansbury for some reason.
don't wanna tangle with you, I'd rather tangle with him.
I think I'm gonna bash his head in...

  5. Die another Day ... hm, they're just re-arranging past titles in the franchise, aren't they?

Anyway, the best "James Bond" film is Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest.
