Thread: Presenting the Week in Review #4

  1. Presenting the Week in Review #4

It's the first of many TNL webcomics to come. (Sure, we're up to Volume 4, but who's counting?)

You may not be a regular at our community boards (and with that, I'd have to say - you don't know what your missing), but suffice it to say...this venue for discussion has its highs and lows.

One day, we had an unexpected guest, but quite unlike the trolls, the gushing elitists, or an aspiring forum nazi. Actually, he was well...an artist.

Arriving during what could be considered our darkest hour (ok, it's nothing nearly as bad, but play along), Kaneda (yes...like the character in Akira) introduced his light-hearted humor to quell the ongoing drama that had polluted the boards...

Kaneda tailored his content to focus primarily upon the misadventures of the forum, coined as "Week in Review". Since then, three issues centered upon smilies, a hardcore *cough* unhealthy *cough* MGS2 enthusiast, and um...one which escapes my memory for the moment.

Today, Kaneda is now on board as our resident staff artist, expanding his interest beyond the board and has targeted a new area for his satire and wit - our staff. (...and as for Jenna's future involvment, um...don't ask)

In any case, we thought that we'd share his fourth installment with you all. It's basic, contemporary humor that should put a smile on yoru face, and above all, convey that not everything around here centers upon games (well, at least not all the time).

It's an exciting nine-page adventure, on behalf of Kaneda and the entire TNL staff and its forum community, we hope you enjoy it as much as we have!

  2. ahahahahahahahahahhahahahahaa

    *gasp*

    hahahahahahhaahhahaahahhahahah:jest:

That was pure genius Kaneda, I can't believe you nailed bahn like that; whenever he turns into a bulging monster like that, I too get scared (Burgundy doesn't wear glasses, but that was close to looking like him too). I was not in it, but I can overlook a few minor exceptions....

Can't wait for the full color comics, you might just replace milk and cheese and my favorite funny strip...great work.

  3. That was friggin hysterical. You have no idea how much you nailed that.

  5. Thanks, guys.

The hardest part was figuring out what Bahn and Burgundy look like. The only thing I had to use for reference was that E3 staff pic, which is why Burg has those shades and the hat on. I'm so thankful that Kaneda is such an easy character to draw...

  6. Very enjoyable, I've been waiting eagerly for the latest Week in Review, sad to see it end but looking forward to your next efforts man. Me ty pegoo d. ahahahahaha.

This is based on a true story right?

  9. Considering there's no real TNL office, no...

Indicating his staff pic being edited at the time, yes
