I saw the backstory to Predator, and the writers said that the Pentagon was working on a special suit that bends light, like the predator's suit. So my question is Do you guess think that, what we see in movies will come to real life?

The government has hired a team at a university- I believe it's MIT- to create a suit similar to the Predator's cloaking ability. It will be covered in sensors, reflectors, and such to blend in with one's surroundings. Its kinda like 'instant' camoflage.

Also, it will be able to sense the color scheme behind the wearer, and transmit those colors to the front of the suit. The idea is not to become invisible (not possible by today's technology), but to become harder to see.

I believe the goal is a reduction in decectability by 1/4 or something. The deadline is pretty soon- before 2005.

I have no links to offer with 'official' info. I read about this in the newspaper and heard about it on the radio a few months back...
