Signs: M. Night's best film yet?

Hey all,
I just saw Signs last night at a preview screening, and I must rank it as one of M. Night's best (Well, Unbreakable sucked and Sixth Sense is just alittle better than Signs...so I guess I am not comparing it to much).

The movie was well-paced,had fantastic dialogue and some well placed humor. The actors delivered fine performances; especially Joaquin Phoenix, who was perfect in his role as Willis' kid brother turned part-time mother replacement.

Shyamalan's style of subtle horror made for an intense movie... left to the audience's imagination, corn fields and attics became haunting bases for unknown evils. Ok, this is sounding like a promo ad, but i was really into the movie last night.

There were alot of scary moments, and everything was coming together until the end...when you all see it, please reply to this thread and let me know if the ending was a let down or not. It downgraded this movie from being a classic to just average...take away the final 15 minutes and this film was 4 stars in my book.

Well, I will be seeing it tomorrow. You say the ending was somewhat dissapointed? Hmm, I guess I will have to wait and see it. 6th Sense was just ok, and not as great or scary as many people were hyping it to be, and I thought it was a little boring too. And I still havent seen Unbreakble yet, but I think I will borrow my friends dvd, and finally watch it.

I will post my impressions of Signs here tomorrow, after I come back.

Spartan will do so Tommorow also. Unbreakable is a Great film IMO but not as good as Sixth Sense.

One question is its running time long?

Signs is a terrifying, brilliantly made movie. I loved it from start to finish. The way the movie built up your fear as it went along was excellent. Signs is the best movie I've seen all year, and was above and beyond my high expectations.

A perfect movie. Go see Signs and let yourself be fully engrossed in it.

The scene where you first see the creature in full view was awesome. The little bird distracts your attention and then WHAM! Holy shit was I shaking !!

Hell yeah, that part really creeped the fuck out of me. On top of that, my heart was pounding most of the movie. Especially when they were in the basement.

The Way I look at it the Ending did have a Twist you didn't see coming. With the Flashback to the Wife's accident and her revalations reminded me alot of Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. That was M Night as the Driver who fell asleep right? Just my opinon but he's a much better writer and director than an actor, though I could be wrong.

Um The little Girl was Cute too, I mean that in a non creepy way. I loved her obsession with Water for various reasons.

saw it. Did not like the ending at all. Whatsoever. Funny... bit scary... but the ending... ehhghhaa. everything just fit conventantly together... My suggestion is see it during the day.
