The events and characters werent explained and connected well.

Like what? I'm not saying this movie didn't have plot holes (because it sure did), I'm just wondering what explanations and connections you missed.

and stupid subplot with them going to look for the missing daughter was just lame.

I liked it because it tied the movies together better, Anderson seems to be going more for a re-design of the RE storyline then he does a straight copy. Really, considering how well these two movies go together, I don't mind.

Friggin AVP was more gorey than this crap.

When? Not even the Aliens bleed much in that movie.

Oh yeah, and way to screw up orgins of the T-virus.

Seeing as how Anderson screwed up the viruses in the first movie, you're a little behind. Although none of that matters if, again, you look at this as a re-design instead of a copy. Which it has to be anyway, because we all know who really killed Nemesis and how.

Who can magically connect to all the phones and cameras in the city (which surprisingly still have power, even among all of the destruction and chaos going on),

None of the zombies attacked the city's main power generators (or the supposed nuclear power plant) so why would they lose power? They were pretty much just running around attacking other people. And what's so magic about him using Umbrella's setup in the city they have totally policed on their own in the same fashion as was demonstrated by their setup in the first movie in every area Umbrella controls?

So where do you think all those zombie kids go?

The same place zombies go in every zombie movie ever made when they mystically disappear for a while. Not that this isn't always wierd, but why bring it up now?

How the hell she knew that she need to jump her bike through stained window, to fight lickers??? I guess she also read the script.

Considering the movies you do like, this is a really funny line since most action movies use that exact kind of deus ex machina. As for knowing to fight Lickers, they went over how the infected can detect each other a few times during the movie and also nudged a couple times at how well one could do so was reliant on the state of the others (and Lickers are much more potent then zombies).

It was pretty meh. Mike Epps was pretty funny, a nice shout out to GTA and I'm glad they didn't push the "pimp" aspect as much as I thought they would when I read his character description.

But everything else was basically average in every way. Some great set pieces, and a lot of action, but most of it was shot way too damn close and cut too fast to tell what was going on. And again an R rated "horror" movie with no more violence than your average PG-13 movie. "Fuck" was said more than twice and there were a handful of boob shots. There really was no gore and most of what could have been cool was done off screen. After seeing what Dawn did earlier this year, it was a real let down. I mean we didn't even get to see a decent head shot! POW and we see a zombie fall over so fast it doesn't even look like they were hit.

I'm pretty disappointed actually. Could have been a lot better and I didn't like the ending at all (and it felt dragged out).

Andrew, MechDeus seems to be doing the same thing, we went through with Van Hellsing. He liked the crappy movie, we didnt, and long discussion will involve lots of arguments and counter arguments from both parties defending and criticizing the picture in question

Yep. Thats what I mentioned in my impressions as well. When DOTD could be very gory even in cut form as both RE movie combined and then some, then there is a problem.

Ok, We can play explanation game:

Take for example Jill. If you havent played the game, you dont know who she is, and a bit info from the newspaper clipping its all that is given as character backstory. Then she comes in guns blazing, kills some zombies in the police department, that incompetent cops cant handle, and we know she is badass.
STARS get even less attention, and just mentioned twice, and then get slaughtered like a bunch of whimps.

Same goes for Pimp character. I guess he was a pimp, since movie didnt bother to even introduce him. So what was his name? Or did they ever mention Carlos name in it either? But who cares, right?

Both Aliens and Predators bled more than friggin zombies did here. When we have movie about zombie appocalypse, and almost none of the zombies even show shot in the head (they just fall down in 99% of the time like Rumpy mentioned), its a bullshit.

Tsk, tsk. The city in chaos. There are explosions, looting, hordes of zombies hunting down the living, and all power lines are in tip-top condition. The aerial shots of cityscape, showed all of the highrise building with power on. Why those building will even have power if they are empty or full of dead people? Good question. Now look ate other examples of zombie appocalypse scenarios in DOTD or 28 Days later. Is there power in those cities??

Zombies don't have blood, do they? I would imagine once they die and the blood stops flowing that bleeding would be harder since there would be no blood pressure.

See? It's all common sense in this movie. Everything is explained if you just look to nature.
