I just saw American Pyscho 2

Being a fan of the original American Pyscho I was very interested in the sequel and what direction the story of Patrick Bateman would take. Just to clear things up Christan Bale is not in the Movie, Bateman is played by another actor. The Movie is about what happens to a Rachael a College student who happened to be a Survivor of Bateman's rampage. Don't expect this to be anywhere near the quality of the first it's not. Why they went this direction I'm not sure but don't expect alot of Bateman in the Movie or you will be disapointed. Though I'm sure fans would like to see what became of Bateman and yes it's fully explained. Oh and I should add William Shatner plays a College professor in the Movie which was cool. There is Gore but alot of the action killings are done offscreen. It still keeps the dark humor but lacks the charm of the first.

I'd say see it if you are a Hardcore Horror fan like I am or are just curious about the Bateman character and the minor ties to the original.

Mila Kunis who plays the lead is very/sexy hot and added alot to the character.

Too bad it never saw a theatrical release but there is still a chance if the Video does well.

The version I viewed was an R-Rated one I'm not sure if a Uncut version exists?

BTW the original title of A PYSCHO was "All American Girl"

  2. I saw it...it was alright. There were some plot holes, but it was okay as a whole. I guess. They had a small budget, but they did quite a bit with what they had. There wasn't any gore, all the killing is done off screen, or doesn't involve blood (the janitor, but you only see the *after*, which I might add would be impossible for her to do).

I thought the first movie was pretty damn confusing to boot. The ax death was quality, but I didn't like how the movie just...ended.

  3. I was gonna buy the dvd because I am a huge fan of American Psycho, but to tell you the truth it does look like a POS movie.

Anyone ever read the book for AP? I know a couple of you have.

  4. Well, I might rent it one day, when I will have some free time, but there are alot of other movies on m list that take priority

    Did Shatner gets killed?

  5. The stupid thing about this is all the killings in American Psycho never happened. Patrick Bateman's rampage was all in his head, so there could be no survivor.

But the movie changed this important detail. As a result, Ellis' book is miles better than the Bale movie (as is usually the case). I'd recommend it to anyone who liked the film.

    Satoshi Kon: 1963-2010

  6. yeah... the original had a fantastic book behind it... this sequel doesn't...

i just finished reading Ellis' Glamourama... and it was fantastic... i'd reccomend it to anyone who enjoyed AP

That what I thought too Bio, and I think those murders didnt really happen in the movie as well.

So you right on saying that there were no survivors, to continue the story, or the makers of AP2, just decided that all the people who saw orginal AP, thought that Bateman actually killed those people, and build the sequel story on that.

Just to clear things up the so called Survivor wasn't from the first this was a brand new scene where Rachael and her babysitter meet Bateman. I don't recall that in the first one. So maybe he does really start killing.

  9. I just recently saw half of the movie, then I fell asleep.

I thought it was horrible. I'll stop there, my impressions might change after I see the whole movie.

  10. The book is terrific, way better than the movie. I am boycotting the second movie on the grounds that it looks terrible. And from what i've read here, it is.
