I dunno....its looks REALLY kiddie to me. I dont think I'd want anybody to see me playing it.
You regularly post in a videogame forum. You're a fucking nerd. The types of games you play don't change that.

Honestly, I can't say I'm that interested in the Nintendo games, they just seem like a nice bonus to me. The world continuing without you and building up your place are what seem so nice to me, I like that. Hmm... such a different game from what's coming out lately, should be a nice change of pace for me.
How is Socom a dumbed down version of CS? Maybe a dumbed down version of RS but not CS. CS is a good game but I think Socom is much better from just the demo I've played. The two games just seem so different. CS seems really fast with a little bit of stealth which I dont think is realistic at all. Socom is slower and teamwork seems to be much more important. Besides, how the hell does Socom and CS relate to Animal Crossing anyways?

Look, I agree that Animal Crossing is totally unique. I'm just saying that this game IS made for kids. Like I said before Nintendo is even marketing it for them. Are you going to go out and buy ELMO's 123? I doubt it.

The bunny-hopping is what I feel is unrealistic in CS, the rush tactics work if you're with a good team. Teamwork does make a huge difference, but many people ignore it. As they will in SOCOM.

Taste. You claim we shouldn't be excited about something that appears to be another game wrapped in a shell for a different target audience, and that's exactly what SOCOM is. Doesn't stop some of you from getting excited about it, now does it?

Then I'm glad to be in touch with my inner child, because it sounds like fun.

As far as some people are concerned, so is Mario Sunshine.
Are you going to go out and buy ELMO's 123? I doubt it.
If Elmo's 123 was something innovative and fun and clearly built to cater to all age groups, then I would. But it's obviously not, so I sure won't.

Though something being kid-only will be cute, if something is cute that does not make it kid-only.

From what I hear, Animal Forest+ was an unusually popular game for men 25 and over. Nintendo doesn't really need advertising for this game. It clearly became a world of mouth thing in japan, as it still sells a bunch of copies a week, even now. I guess my point is that you should give a game as unique as Animal Crossing a chance.

I cannot wait to get this game. It looks to be a real breath of fresh air in today's market. I don't get the whole "kiddie" stigma. After all, wouldn't classics like any Mario game, Sonic game, or most NES games be called kiddie by today's standards? What makes a game "kiddie" anyways? If the game looks like fun, I'll play the damn thing. I don't care if it has blood, gore, limbs flying off, or cute, fuzzy bunnies going from one place to the next. As long as it looks like fun, I'll give it a whirl. The whole kiddie stigma, to me, is just a giant double standard applied to certain games. The Crash games are no more mature than any Mario game, but what game is called kiddie? Mario games. The added social value to it is even more ironic considering it involves VIDEO GAMES for Christ's sake. Let's face it, we are, by and large, viewed as the biggest dweebs on the planet. It doesn't matter if you play the latest Mario game, or kill millions, you're still playing a video game. And in the eyes of many, that's social suicide no matter what.

    ...

I fail to see the diffirence in how Nintendo is marketing AC, versus any of other of there titles (the new Mario Sunshine commercial for instance).
