Thread: Star Ocean 3 *official*

  1. Okay... I really need help here. I'm absolutely stuck, and every FAQ I've read makes NO mention of the problem I'm running into.

I'm in the Urssa Laval Caves. I get the rabbit key, and then head to the door that you use the key on... except, there's a giant rock in the way of the door. My character says, "Hmm, there must be some way to get to that door" or something along those lines. I've not found one FAQ that mentions the rocks being there... they just say to walk up to the door and unlock it.

Anybody know what I need to do to get rid of that rock? (The disingration hammer is no use on it, BTW.)

Hit me up on AIM and I'll try and help.

If you noticed, the room that has the door blocked by a rock is located at the end of the middle route of that room. When you got in you could have went left, right or straight up if I can recall correctly. You found the key on the right side, and taking the middle road led you to the blocked door. Take the left route and you'll have to go in this mini-maze until you reach a rabbits home. He'll make you the Ring of Disintegration that you'll be using a lot from now on. He's going to ask you to fetch an ore in the Mountains of Barr blocked off by ice. He'll give you Disintegration Bombs to get through the ice.

When you get back to his place with the glowstone, pay him 10'000 like I did and he'll throw in the Gusty Bunny. It's a pretty useless item, when equipped it makes foes stronger and worth more EXP, which is only helpful against very weak enemies you run into. If you don't think you'll need that, just pay 1'000.

  4. Okay, seriously... what the FUCK.

I was at Spinx. (Or however it is spelled.) I could actually hold my own against the creatures there, except for the Executioners, which could stick it to me if I wasn't careful. Went to the archives, first soldier fight I had I absolutely mopped the floor with them.

But... I go to Sphere, and get into the right off the bat second soldier fight, and I can't even last ten seconds most times I try. My characters get juggled to hell, and take like 1,000 points of damage per shot. I even purchased the armor that reduces damage from optical weapons, but that just knocks the damage of each shot down by 100 points or so.

Why in the world am I getting my ass kicked so bad in this fight? Every FAQ I read makes the fight sound like nothing. My characters are Fayt (43), Cliff (41), and Sophia (33). As I said, up to this point, I've been a match for everything they've thrown at me, if not more stronger. But I can't even land one hit in this batle.

What are your weapons forged with?

If you haven't started making your own advanced weapons it's no wonder you're getting fucked. By your point in the game my Fayt and Albel each had the most powerful weapon (with no innate effects) forget with 8 boots that gave the weapon +50% def and attack which all stack on top of each other. So basically if my attack was at 300 the first one adds 150 making the totall 450 to which the second adds 255 making the total 675 and so on and so forth untill you are in the high thousands.

The point is, make some better shit.

  6. You've got to make your own weapons in this game? Fuck. It seems less and less likely that I'll start this game with each passing day. Why the fuck did I buy it?

I don't see how making weapons is a problem to the gameplay. If anything, it's a test to your creativity.

It's fucking easy and fun to make kick ass weapons and go pwn bitches with them.

Believe this news for it is news worth believing.

Ok. You win. I'll start it as soon as I finish Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne.

I haven't touched weapon creation/modification much yet, because I was under the understanding that if you played around with that too much, it was easy to suddenly unbalance the game in your favor. As well, like I said, I've had no problem getting through everything that's been thrown at me up to this point - I typically spank any boss that's tossed my way.

And if the solution is to do some weapon modification, I might be screwed, because I don't think Gemity offers any means of doing that, and I already used my "first use" of the Eternal Sphere interface.
