Thread: Angry & Frustration=playing better

  1. #11
I spike my controllers. I actually do this often enough that I keep a set on mini screwdrivers handy so I can do emergency repairs. My PS2 controller has had more surgeries than Terry Allen's knees.

  2. I used to rage against the machine*cough*. For some reason I've become a fairly placid fellow in regards to games. It's been a while since a game angered me to the point of wanting to break it. Though back in the day I've....

    Thrown discs.

    Swung controllers into the ground.

Thrown systems into a wall.(The Genesis is suprizingly resilliant)

and lastly, I've taken an ax to a CD player that was funking out on me(like skipping on a brand new CD, turning off for no apparent reason, being unable to read discs that were perfectly fine, ect.). I put all the little pieces in a clear plastic bag and nailed it on my wall in my bedroom as a warning to all other electronics in my home to not piss me off.

Oh, and now when we get a return on a defective controller at work I take it to the back and give it a good stomping, so perhaps I release my anger there.

  3. Read this thread about controller throwing:

lots of rage to be had. I destroyed my first GBA with a mighty headbutt thanks to Advance Wars' War Room...

  4. My solution for frustration? Put the controller down, go to the console and eject the disc, put disc away, and power off (or switch games).

    Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)

Actually, the same goes for me. I really don't get that pissed over games. I'll get angry, but the worst I've done in about a year is simply bang my hand on a nearby surface.

And, also similar, I've smashed and hit my controllers in the distant past. Thankfully, I never destroyed anything.

  6. Yeah, I've never lost my cool so much as to break anything, though I do have a crack in an N64 controller from Pokemon Puzzle League.

It's usually just the less destructive cursing like a sailor who just slammed his finger in a car door for me.
