I don't see why. It's not heating the system as much as Sony and Sega consoles, and it doesn't have a big fat transformer plug.

the way the N64 and GC ac lines are set up all the heat thats created from the transformer is OUTSIDE the system thus meaning you have a cooler running system which extends the life of the system
need we bring into the discussion the PSX overheating debacle
id wager money the main reason for it over heating was from the ac stuff being inside the machine
SearchmanX: In the UK, most current televisions support RGB, and the leads are called "RGB scart." Japanese RGB leads are different.

It also helps keep the console at a considerably smaller size. Add to that, the fact that when the transformer goes out on a N64 or Gamecube, all you have to do is replace the AC adapter.
