Thread: The TNL Pile of Shame Warpact *updated*

  1. My first weekend update in a while.

    Finished:
    - Zelda: Wind Waker
    - Exile
    - Double Dragon
    - Soldier Blade

    Added:
    - Devil's Crush

    Fame - 21
    Shame - 129

  2. Weekend update, post your progress.

The rest of you that is

Didn't manage to knock of anything other than Lost Kingdoms this week. Wizardry soaked up all of my time. Down in B6, but I'm not sure if I can grind through it anymore. The pace is a bit on the deliberate side, and now that DDP is in the mail, my shooter stack is calling to me.

  3. Haven't posted in a while.

I beat Pocky & Rocky, but I sold it last week, so does that even count? I also played Time Crisis for a good two weeks, enough to knock it off the list.

Speaking of selling, it has put a nice dent in the list. Here's the updated list:

    Alundra
    Dino Crisis
    Metal Gear Solid
    Legend of Oasis
    Nights
    Ys Book I & II
    Gaurdian Legend
    Startropics
    Zelda DX
    Zelda: Majora's Mask
    Landstalker
    Ranger X
    Phantasy Star IV
    Sonic CD
    Typing of the Dead
    Cosmic Smash
    Resident Evil: Code Veronica
    Silent Bomber

Finishing up: Skies of Arcadia and Lunar 2 (SCD). I've played them enough to where I think they could be removed from the list, but I got to get the recognition once I actually finish them.

So I'll say it's down to 20 games. A nice selection for upcoming summer break.

  4. Killed off Eternal Darkness.

    FINAL ANALYSIS:

    - The actual game left me cold, most of the levels revole around you killing the same lame ass enemies, and solving these stupid puzzles, the majority of the game felt like a chore, especially all that crap envolving the giant ring of power. The sanity effects never had any bearing on me, because i never allowed my sanity to drop to those levels, and on a similar note, magic made the game a breeze.

The game's saving grace is the story line, I really enjoyed it all. The voice acting was good, there was a huge MGS2 connection here, like 5 of the voices actors in ED were in MGS2. I loved the voices of the people who did the spells
"SANTAK PARGON ULAOTH" sounds so cool.

And my favorite thing about the entire game was the silicon knights logo "YOU TOO, WILL COME TO UNDERSTAND FEAR, AS I HAVE". Now that was cool.

All in all, I enjoyed the game, but not enough to play through it two more times, at least not anytime soon.

Those are my sentiments EXACTLY. I liked Eternal Darkness, but it was lacking in lots of key areas. For example, an outdoor level would have been nice. It would have also been nice if they didn't reuse some of the same areas.....

I bought ED the day it came out and I have never even entertained one thought about playing through it a second time...

The only kind of recent game I have played through more than once was Illbleed. I don't know if anyone else here likes Illbleed, but its by far my favorite "Survival Horror" game. The extra stuff that happens when you play through it a second time is well worth it...

  6. By the way, if you're not on the list, it's not because I hate you You either didn't provide a list, or whatever you did provide was not decipherable by my fleshy computational unit.

  7. Finished Quake 2 about 20 minutes ago. Finally just sat down and played through the last 5 units today. I had been doing 1 level a day for a week or two, and today I wanted to get it over with. The grainy FMV at the end shocked me for some reason; I guess I figured since ID is so good with engines that they would be good at CG too. Ah well.

  8. Removed Click. What happened to your stack? Subsumed beneath the weight of your shooter rampage?

  9. Beat Drakan: the Ancient Gates last night. I loved the game, I just wish they would have done something about the bugs. That cheesoid ending pissed me off though. I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel someday.
It wasn't in my POS, so it still stands where its at.
