Not believing it til Gamespot or some other non-rumor site picks it up.
This looks like "oh so and so said it would be in this magazine in this issue that hasn't been printed yet", which Magic Box then translated to "it's a go"... Gotta love net.rumor and hack journalism.
Oh and Gamefreak, go read up a bit on your Square history/dogma. The FF3 that is being referred to here never made it to the US -- it's a NES game that Square never published, going instead with the following FF4 as FF2 in the US. The US FF3 is in fact FF6.
