Thread: Credit at EB - what to buy?

  1. Credit at EB - what to buy?

I have $90 in credit at EB and I have no idea what to buy. I actually wish this was one year ago, when EB was selling more non-game related crap like mp3 plays and the like, because then I would buy something like that. But... that's not an option, so does anybody have any recommendations?

Please keep in mind that my tolerance to videogames is approaching Richard Simmons' tolerance to a copy of Playboy. But my time is almost up with them (one week left) and I want to use my credit when I still have my discount. So Ill be honest with you - I probably wont want anything deep because I will just get bored and never touch it again. But a quick-thrill sort of title may be good. Nothing too long, either, since Im leaving for college soon and Im not bringing my game systems with me. And once Im gone there is little to no chance of me getting them. This also means I can't preorder a game.

I have a PS2, Xbox, and Game Boy Advance. And my PC is pretty beefy (either a 1.2ghz w/ 256 megs of RAM or a 1.3 w/ 384 megs). Although I haven't played my GBA since, like, October 2001.

    Thanks people.

I know this isn't completely on the up-and-up, but I would buy something like a GBA that costs almost the whole $90. Don't open it. Take it back to Wal Mart and get something that you will actually use: an MP3 player, microwave, George Foreman, or whatever.

I remember you liking non-linear gameplay so you might like Way of the Samurai on PS2. It's not exactly pick up and play though but it is relatively short. You might have to play for a few hours in a row, especially when you first start.

  4. wouldn't be a bad idea to pick up a bunch of GH games for your ps2 if you haven't played 'em, alot of those would be great for a quick thrill: Twisted Metal Black, GT3, DMC (that's for you depair), and tony hawk 3. ICO is a fantastic short puzzler (5-6 hours to finish). other than that there are the must plays halo, gta3, Mgs2 *shuns* which i hope you have played already...
you really should bring you gba to school with a copy of advance wars...you know...to play in those boring lectures...

  5. well you'll be bringing your PC to college right?
why not buy some PC games?

like... oh i dunno, MoonBase Commander is good for 20 bux.
    addictive fun i hear.

and Grand Theft Auto 3 is out for PC as well.

though all this is dependant on you bringing your PC with you.
