Thread: Auto Modellista

The next Ridge Racer is supposed to have liscensed cars... Namco had to screw it up somehow.

  2. I heard that there would be 2 Ridge Racer games, one Ridge Racer Type 4 style (*cringe*) and the other a pure arcade racer (yay!)...

    Isn't that an oxymoron?

Anyway, what's with all the GT3 hate? Do you guys all suck or something? I don't know how any racing fan couldn't love that game

  5. I just found GT boring. I can go out and drive a real car if I want to... (Yes I know I can't drive a Saleen with a turbo kit, but meh)

I'm still hoping this game will satisfy a happy medium between the two. It seems I'll be the board guinea pig on this one...
    Boo, Hiss.

  6. Well, I can understand why some people like Gran Turismo. It just does appeal to me at all. It's not that I don't like some realistic racing games. I just don't like the Gran Turismo style. Blehhhh city. Oh well. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks I guess.

I hope that Auto Modellista is something closer to MSR/Project Gotham , at the very least.. because MSR is my fave racing game ever.

  7. I can see how the simulation mode in GT would be boring for some people but the arcade mode is not that different from other racing games except for the cars don't powerslide and 40MPH

If you are into cars like me GT is anything but boring, but if cars aren't really your thing then I can understand.

Arcade racers are great in the arcade, they don't have any replay value and they are usually really short... I loved Daytona USA in the arcades because of the cool sitdown units that where networked and the helicopter view screen to watch the racers, of course you can't have those things at home and all you where really left with was a short average racer IMO.

Exactly. No powersliding, tough control, and a really slow feeling aren't what I'm looking for in a racing game. It plain out feels slow to me, there's a much bigger rush to be had just going down the highway, IMO.

  9. I dont have a problem with GT, but expecting a jelly bean and getting a pinto bean doesn't make me happy.

    No, I dont make sense~
