Thread: The All-TNL Top 10 Playstation Games List - THE FINAL LIST! Updated sept. 4th

  1. I don't have a PSX, but I played my sister's a fair bit and I borrowed it to play the the only PSX game I own - and one of my favourite games ever:

    Grandia!

If I get a PS2 I plan on getting some PSX games I missed out on though. The ones I most want are:

    Valkyrie Profile
    Klonoa
    Alundra
    Suikoden 1/2
    Star Ocean 2

  2. In no real order...

    1. C:SotN
    2. Valkryie Profile
    3. Xenogears
    4. FFT
    5. Metal Gear Solid
    6. FFIX
    7. Chrono Cross
    8. Parappa
    9. N20 (at least recently)
    10. Tenchu

  3. I want to apologize for omitting Tony Hawk 2 from my list.

Take out C:SotN and put in Tony Hawk 2.
The spirit of liberty is the spirit which is not too sure it is always right. -Learned Hand

"Jesus christ you are still THE WORST." -FirstBlood

  4. While most of those games on the peeps lists are some of my favorites, I'll go ahead and mention those titles that deserve recognition with exception to Grandia.

1- Grandia: One of the few RPG's of the last 5 years, that has pulled me in, and would'nt let me quit playing until the end.

2- Colony Wars: A great epic story of war, with great cinema and narative ( The guy sounds like James Earl Jones). One of the best Space battle games ever!

3- Wild Arms: I loved the replay of super hits to the enemy, and the story was pretty good also.

4- Warhawk: I can't recall a game quite like this one!

5- Destruction Derby: Nothing like smashing up a bunch of cars, after a bad day in traffic.

6- Nectaris: Military Madness - One of my favorite Turbo Graphx-16 games, gets more of everything the original offered.

7- Namco Museum Volumn 1: Galaga and Pac-Man are some of the greatest arcade hits of all time.

8- Final Fantasy Anthology: It's about time we have the chance to play Final Fantasy V.

9- Hot Shot's Golf: A great new angle on the sport of Golf.

10- Wipeout: Okay, so I mentioned a game that every Playstation owner knows about, but it sure made people forget about F-Zero for a little while.

    *gasp* Surely you jest?!

  6. 10.Tekken 3 - My most used game for 2 players.

    09.Raystorm - Can you say I hard?

08.Tenchu - Never beat it but it left a lasting impresion on me.

07.Soul Edge - I Imported this gem and it got more play than Tekken.

06.Rage Racer - I play this game too this day even more than RRV.

05.Super Puzzle Fighter - This game is an addiction.

04.Resident Evil 2 - Too easy I beat it in 1 weekend, still a great game.

03.Metal Gear Solid - I loved this game every step of the way it was cramped with great ideas, the reason why dual shocks were made.

02.Final Fantasy VII - The reason I bought a PSX and spend 2 weeks locked in my room back in Sept 97. It had great story, cinemas, it was hype.

01.Castlevania: Symphony of The Night - The best X-mas present I've had in years. I want another one of these on a bigger screen than a GBA.

    Honorable mention:
    Street Fighter Alpha 2
    Eihander
    Klonoa
    Soukoiden
    Resident Evil
    Pocket Fighter
Chrono Cross - Still in progress.
    Final Fanatsy IX
    Destruction Derby
    Wipeout

  7. final fantasy tactics
    armored core(first)
    ace combat 2
    strider 2
    street fighter zero 3
    driver(first)
    hot shots golf(first)
    twisted metal(first)
    castlevania: symphony of the night
    bloody roar(first)

have yet to play all the way through front mission 3 or bushido blade, thus disqualifying both from my list.

I thought about it, but I didn't want to do a DC list before people had had a chance to play Ikaruga, KoF and maybe Slug 3. And for the current systems, with so many huge games coming out this christmas (is there even a point to doing a Gamecube poll now?) it seems best to wait. As for an all-time game list, that'd be interesting, but I'd wait until everyone's played the big releases in the next few months (Shenmue II specifically, heh).

Done. That drops SotN's votes to 26, and brings THPS2's up to 3...

  9. Why not do one for past systems?
