Just for those that are unaware, Lion's Gate released some episodes of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show and the good Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon on DVD a few months ago. Get 'em if you haven't already.

9. zelda: complex mythology involving three primordial dieties, an artifact of ultimate power, a living, speaking world tree, hordes of faries, a race of sea people, friendly rock ogres,and roving female thieves. sonic, a fat robot name after a beetles character annoys a hedgehog with..."attitude" for those who forget, "attitude" was 90's speak for "extreme"
10. shape shifting joy for link in mm, sonic is still a hedgehog, same abilities
11. Link kicked ass in super smash bros, in fact,so did zelda and gannon, but especially link. sonic was kind of fun in sonic raceing, but that was after the saturn was already dead, so too bittersweet.
Actually this is harsh, sonic was a cool character,and i liked his games, but zelda was the second game that i ever got for the nes, it was the reason i got an nes, when i played it it blew me away, it unified my entire greade school male population to ge tthruough the second quest(this was pre internet days.) and every sucessive zelda has been a revelation. i would ditch mario to make link the flagship of nintendo. So sorry but link is the reason i choose game systems,and companies to fanboy for, so that is that.
