    Why do you think the Makaimura (Ghosts 'N Goblins) series is cool?

    It's been more than 15 years since our favorite demon-slayer has hit the gaming scene and even now, the series still shows to be challenging, nice-looking, and just as much fun.

    Care to share why you like this series? (If not for Princess Prin Prin's measurements... )

    There's not much too say except: the gameplay is fun, the atmosphere is great and the music is awesome.

  3. I've always been a big fan of the Makaimura games. Very well made incredibly challenging games, that will frustrate the hell out of you for the longest time, but once you finally beat them you feel like a God. Plus the two later games, Dai and Cho had some excellent boss designs.

    Oh and I forgot to mention how great the music is.

    Ghosts N Goblins for the NES was one of the first games to move beyond the "classic arcade style" of game and into the more modern NES type of game. I think that helps it be memorable and stick out for me, it really wowed back then.

    Aside from that, great atmosphere (I love fantasy/monster type settings), neat weapon system (damned to be stuck with the torch), hard as hell, and I dunno it just all comes together. It's more than its sum. Same with the rest of the series.

  5. I recently picked up the second volume of Capcom Generation for my Saturn to play the games. I've been badly beaten, raped, and pillaged by the games' difficulty, and I want more. If a gamer was a masochist, Ghost n' Goblins would be their toy of choice.
