NEW LORD OF THE RINGS 'LEAKS' ON INTERNET -- 4 MONTHS BEFORE RELEASE

The new fuss film LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS has been leaked on to the Internet, it was claimed on Sunday -- more than 4 months before its release.

In a stunning slap at Hollywood and its ongoing copyright battle with digital swappers, Internet users boldly began trading copies of the latest RINGS on Sunday.

But one AOLTIMEWARNER executive expressed serious doubt that a file is in play.

"I have serious question about this, I am not sure we even have a finished product yet!" said the executive from New York. "I don't know what this is, but if it is the movie, or any portion of the movie, we will impose strict criminal penalties against anyone and everyone that downloads it!"

While the movie's distributor has no legitimate report of a leak, file traders were convinced they had the real movie, which is set for release in December.

Some prereleases that have hit the net recently include the first 3 episodes of the new SOPRANOS season and DVD rips of STAR WARS Episode 2 and SPIDERMAN.

  5. Im all for mp3 technology and what have you, but I just can't condone this sort of post-it-on-the-net-before-its-out deal. With mp3s and shit, you can make some sort of case about how it helps the music trade and how the RIAA can really profit from it if they try.

But when products are stolen and posted to the internet before they are out, it completely destroys any sort of legitimacy argument that you can make. It sort of undermines the whole deal and just gives lawmakers/RIAA/MPAA reason to go even more gungho on TCPA/DRM than they already are.

If this is all true... dissapointing.

  6. Even if the movie is out over the net, they are still working on the film. Whatever you watch won't be finished.

Well, I enjoy alternate versions of films. This will be something to tide me over until the official theatrical version ends up on the net.

    Piracy is awsome.

  8. Merry- Wow, that tree moved!
Pippin- I think I saw an eye!
*camera pans over to empty forest*
    Merry- Watch out!
    Pippin- Its grabbed us!

    Enjoy, 88mph.

So I assume you have downloaded the film, and are basing all this off your personal experience watching it?

    Oh... you're just talking shit?

Well then. How about you shut the fuck up. I am not impressed.

  10. I need to see the first Lord of the Rings film one day.
