    Comic Book Villans

This Movie looks fun it's about some rabid Comic book collectors that try to get the Collection of a deceased man due to the fact he has a rare and pristine Collection. I haven't seen it yet but it looks to be dark comedy maybe. I myself haven't collected Comics in years but I still would like to see it.

Anyone see it? I think it's on DVD/Video now but not too sure.

  2. sounds cool. I haven't heard of this movie either, and I will check it out.

    *** POSSIBLE SPOILERS ***

    Well,
It's definitely unique...it takes a turn towards some very misplaced violence (at least in my opinion--like how Nurse Betty got so violent towards the end, it just seemed out of place and unecessary)...

Anyway, it's a dark comedy...but not really that funny. Here's a synopsis--a guy dies leaving behind the mother of all comic collections--we're talkin mint condition Golden Age classics...

So naturally two local comic owners want to get it...there's M. Rappaport who owns the more mainstream Pokemon selling comic store and there's the dude from that Fox show and those old MTV taxi commercials (know who I mean?) who owns like the cool, going-out-of-business store...

So they both proceed to try and get the collection from the guys mother who won't give it up for anything. There's also the kid who was in that New Guy movie and he turns out to be the real winner in the end...but I really can't reveal too much more without giving it all away...

So, it's definitely dark, not really savy like a Kevin Smith movie, but I don't regret renting it...but there wasn't as much comic book stuff as I'd like...it's more of a example of how greed can be so destructive and that there is a difference between collecting for the love of it and collecting for the fame, money, etc...

I can give more away if needed...

  6. I watched this last night with some friends, and every one of us liked it. Great movie - very funny, very twisted, and entertaining all the way through. One of the best movies I've seen in a while Highly suggested!

  7. Yeah, pretty cool movie. I liked it a lot, even though I couldn't imgaine someone doing all that stuff for a few old comic books.
Freedom is a road seldom travelled by the multitude...

Hey Guys, thanx for the impressions and Feedbcak, now I must see this.

Just out of curiosity how did you all hear about this? The reason I ask is that it never went to the theatres If I'm correct and hasn't gotten much publicity.

  9. neat idea for a movie... I'll have to check it out, thanks for the heads up!
