Just saw the first part of Arcade Gamer Fubuki OVA. I very strange show about a girl who is a video game champion thanks to her amazing white "Fashion Panty" that gives her Gaming Spirit! She then becomes the target of some evil organization that seems to live in a Galaga dimension and attacks her in real life with pixelated items.
The first episode had her playing Taito's Crazy Climber against a guy named Glass Joe who looked just like Dudley from Street Fighter 3?! She also played Sega's Colunms and Fantasy Zone! I'm just amazed by the show due to nostalgia from the video games she plays. Hopefully it gets licsenced for an American release.
Saw the first OAV as well... aside from seeing the Sega sponsorship in it, it was nothing but fanservice... I was hoping for at least a little content.
It starts out with her wining the Tokyo championship to qualify for the Best of Arcade Game tournament. Then it switches to her in school where the evil orgination watches her and lays out video game traps that she stumbles into and usually runs away confused from. Then it goes to the national tournament where she plays video games again but it get interupted by the evil orgination and is forced to play against her rival in Fantasy Zone. Its all very strange in the regular crazy anime fashion.
