Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever *updated* R rating granted

Ecks vs Sever looks to be a very cool action flick with lots of Gunplay and Explosions to boot. The Movie still hasn't been given a Rating yet, but I hope it gets a R rating so it can be more Graphic. The Movie has seen numerous delays and now it is actually being moved up to the Sept 20th slot. I hope this one delivers the goods and makes up for the Transporter delay.

Anyone plan on seeing this one?

  2. Oh yeah Me, definately. The trailer looks great, and I'm surprised that they still havent given it a rating yet. I also hope for R version, since it will allow for more harder action and fight scenes.

Movie looks great visually, at least in the trailer. I love the part when Swat team guy gets kicked off the roof, and camera follows him all the way to the ground, where he hits the roof of parked van. HArd !!!

Lucy Lu has some cool looking fights, like the one with her armed with sticks against the group of Swat members, or final duel with Darth Maul himself(Ray Parks ). And I really want to see what is she shooting at with that mounted heavy machine gun

Banderas also looks pretty good, and seem to have some nice gun shooting action scenes.

Good to hear that it got moved forward. The news of Transporter delay got me upset, so this move will brighten my day a bit

  3. Does this have anything to do with the GBA game?

Did Parks do the choreography--or was it a HK choreographer? Looks very stylish...

  5. I have been following this title for quite some time. The original title was just "Ecks vs Sever" and with an odd title like that, I had to find out more.

Thai director Wych Kaosayananda actually helmed the highest budgeted film in his home country, so we have a foreign director with some experience. The movie actually has had two videogames already released on the Gameboy Advance in a "Doom" first-person style with good results.

The main news story about this film that caught my attention was the one on IMDB.com claiming that Antonio Banderas actually saved Lucy Liu's life by ducking her to the ground to avoid a 50 foot fireball that went off at the wrong moment. Wow.

Now that the trailer has been released, it all looks to be the exact kind of action movie I think I would enjoy. The shots are inventive at many points and the action is well shot. Even the simple poster intrigues me.

The Special Forces Agent free-falling was a creative use of camera setup and zooming that would impress even Ringo Lam.

Also found out that Terry Chen (Almost Famous, Romeo Must Die) and Ray Park (X-men, Star Wars Ep1.) are also involved, nice casting there as well.

Kaos (the directors shortened nickname) has said that his inspiration comes from a mixture of John Woo, Michael Mann and the better half of Micheal Bay. Funny stuff.

I now have that wallpaper as my own. All the icons to the left, all of Lucy Liu's wonderful backside to the right.

Always enjoy seeing studios create an actual website for their movies, instead of just an Apple Quicktime page.

  6. Wow that's something about Banderas saving Liu's life. I'm hoping the movie will be good. The previews certainly seem to have a "cool action flick" aura. I hope the movie doesn't fall on its face like so many others that I thought had cool previews.

  9. blah.... it looks kinda lame.

Especially the title. im a big 'judge the book by the cover' kind of guy, and the title just doesnt appeal to me. i think its stupid. :/

    The Transpotter looks much better...
