Back lit GBA before the end of the year?

If this is true the GBA will become the best portable ever imo, even better than the Sega Nomad.

My GBA is already afterburned. Nintendo should have done it right the first time and not been greedy, making people purchase lights so they could make more profit...

Nintendo could have done it right the first time, but if they offered a non-backlit version first, then everyone would have to buy a new one again when the backlit version was released. Planned obsolescence. Something they do with a lot of electronics and media, in Japan.

I suspect they would not offer it this soon, if they had not seen money slipping from their grasp with all the people modding their GBAs for lights.

Read the article again, for a mere $10 people who have already purchased the non-backlit version can send in their GBA and get it modded with a backlight.

MMMM....$45 to geta modified frontlit GBA, with imperfections or $10 to get a modified backlit GBA straight from Nintendo.

And Nintendo will only be charging $10 more for the backlit version of the GBA at retail.

I wonder if they'll do an import GBA.

I don't see why they wouldn't, but you never know.

BTW, I don\'t see how the Nomad is even in the same league as the GBA, light or no light.
