  1. waydowntown

I just watched most of the weirdest movie I've ever personally seen. It was called waydowntown on the Sundance channel. I (well, my moms, whowas watching the TV) came across it at random. Seemed like a typical boring indie film until.... you see the main character (Tom) see a guy dressed up like a super hero run buy out of nowhere. Curious, we both continued watching. It was all taking place in a Canadian mall where the entire building was glassed in (no airflow really), and 4 characters had a bet of sorts to see who could last without going outside and get fresh air. It also dealt with the tried and true theme of the rat race and wasting your life working like a robot. I have to say, this is one of the funniest things I've seen in awhile... there was some stuff Mr. Morality (me) didn't approve of (like 2 people having 'fun' in a restroom), but overall, I think the way they showed everyone going crazy and dealt with the main characters 'struggle' was pretty good (and as I said, hilarious). If you get sundance, take a gander if it happens to be on. It's more subdued than something like Office Space, but that's why I think it came off all the funnier...

Damn... been a long time since I said that much about any movie...

  3. I looked around a little and came across:

    Official website: http://www.lot47.com/waydowntown/

    Review 1: http://www.slantmagazine.com/film/ar...ydowntown.html

    Review 2: http://www.insideout.co.uk/films/w/waydowntown.shtml

They probably do a better job of explaining the movie.
