This is good news. The last time Smilebit rushed a game out for christmas the result was Sega Rally 2 on Dreamcast o_O If this means a more polished product then i'm all for it.

"Sega has today announced that Panzer Dragoon Orta will not ship in November as planned. The game is now scheduled for January 2003.
"Sega decided to delay the release of Panzer Dragoon Orta in order to continue adding innovative features and content to the game and its stunning back story," said Mike Fischer, vice president of entertainment marketing at Sega of America. "Sega has a well-earned reputation for developing industry-leading content, and this decision reflects our commitment to quality."
Panzer Dragoon Orta is the latest game in Sega's Panzer Dragoon series. In the game, players ride atop dragons as they fight through levels that have branching paths. Dragons will be able to morph in real time, allowing players to adapt their battle techniques to the immediate situation. For more details, check out our previous coverage of the game. "
Good for the wallet (I suppose, as there's so much coming out over the next couple months), but bad for the anticipation.

Well, Its kinda a bad news for the Xbox, since now with both Orta and Brute Force delayed till last year, what other BIG titles(other then Splinter Cell) Xbox will have this Holiday season?
As for me, January is good, since there are way too many games coming out this Fall for my wallet to support. Plus if the extra time allows them to make the game even better, its fine with me.
That's going to hurt Xbox's Christmas sales. As Despair notes that leaves them pretty much killer app less. Mean while Nintendo is bringing out the big guns and Sony's looking pretty good too.

bbobb, I didn't know that Panzer Dragoon Orta was a killer app enough to move a good majority of Xboxes versus Mario Sunshine on the GC.
The Xbox won't have another killer app until next year. (Halo 2/PGR 2)

Xbox has literally dozens of AAA games coming out. BF was NEVER AAA or a killer app, and PDO was never a killer app (was AAA though). Effect on Xbox sale: 0%. And this was posted days ago!
