I hardly ever drink alcohol. The last night/morning out we had at E3 this year, I just had someone else order my drink. It tasted fine, but I am not into feeling light-headed or floaty.

Why is alcohol so popular?

Alcohol tastes good, and it's interesting. If you're over, what, 16, and tired of drinking sickly sweet juices and sodas, there aren't all that many other things worth drinking- coffee and water, mainly. Various alcohols make up your other options.

A good glass of wine has so much 'more' to it than anything else you could drink, and its characteristics tend to enhance the taste of whatever you're eating. Coffee tends to dull my sense of taste and water just kind of clears the taste of what I had been eating away.

A huge steak is good, a huge steak with a bottle of angry-tasting Cabernet is great. A quart of Bass with a couple of hamburgers. Champagne makes anything better. A good pink gin before dinner makes me anticipate the meal more.

Alcohol is a crucial part of a good meal, IMO. Drinking alcohol for the sake of getting drunk is different, and comparatively stupid. The two practices are completely different, and they shouldn't really be associated.

In all honestly... I really just drink beer off and on. Before I turned 21 I drank to get drunk and be "cool", but now, I just go out with friends and have a beer or two. I love a good microbrew.

I have no intention of drinking until I'm shit-faced, I just happen to like the taste of the occasional drink.

Great movie that turned me onto a great drink. I'll pretty much drink anything but I'm a fan of Heineken, Southern Comfort, and any type of rum. I once drank half a bottle of rum in about 15 minutes then smoked a joint and was feelin real nice for awhile until I threw up violently 3 times. I've loved the stuff ever since.

Drinking to the point of throwing up is so stupid, that feeling just plain sucks. The only good thing is throwing up removes hangovers, but still, drinking to get drunk is just dumb..

Well, yeah, the desired goal is to get drunk without throwing up, but if it happens, it happens. I didn't even plan to drink on this occasion. I just got back from having a catch with my friend and he had a bottle of banana rum sitting on his desk, so I started drinking it. It's really easy to drink so before I knew it the bottle was empty. Yada yada yada I'm sitting over the toilet...I'm sitting over the toilet...I'm cleaning up the floor. This usually doesn't happen, but sometimes you forget you have limits. I also hadn't eaten much that day, but whatever.
