Thread: Virtual On for PS2.

  1. Assault (another twinstick game) is not too bad on PS1 with a stock PS controller. As GameHED mentioned, using the D-Pad and Square/Circle/X/Triangle may be good in VO as well. I wouldn't rule out the dual analog sticks, either.

All that brown terrain... yuk. I can understand if this is on Mars, but maybe they should've stuck to Earth. At least the pictures on Gamespot are story mode only. I can't wait to see the arcade mode- maybe some stages there will look better.

No... it's digital in the arcade. And if no twin sticks are going to be made then frankly that sucks.

"The PS2 controller is actually decent for this kind of game."

No actually, it will be shit. Flimsy analogue sticks don't cut it.

    Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)

  2. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't be surprised if this was both a single-player style game and a port of Force. Then, all my worries would be gone.

    Goddamn that picture is awesome.

  3. Good old Sega, too dumb to use common sense on the OBVIOUS and jerking its fans around. What's the point of making a VO game for A SYSTEM WITH TWIN STICKS THAT ARE RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE PLAYER AT ALL TIMES and not take advantage of that?

Game looks good anyways. Question: Can you play Sat VO with a friend in your same town without having to worry about LD charges? The most I've played of it was the original arcade game years ago which I liked and plan on buying the Sat version sometime next year after I beat some more of my other games. Can Sat Bomberman be played with direct dial?

    Truly.

And what's with the guy in the background to the left?

All the netlink games are direct dial, so I'd imagine you can play against somone that close for free.

Though, I must say, Saturn VOOM is very different from Model 2 VOOM.

What about him? It's another Temjin helping to take down Z-Gradt.

  6. Looks pretty bad IMO but its all about the gameplay, but still..

Hey, I've got a good idea. Let's continue to whine about the color choices in a game that is 10% done. Because they've obviously already shown us what every level is going to look like.

  8. "you’ll be joined by a computer player piloting a virtualoid that looks similar to one of the Apharmds, but with a cowboy hat."

    ?

What in...... $20 sez the pilot is an American. From Texas no doubt.
    All country as hell.

  10. To be honest, not being good at neither VOOM nor VOOT, I really didn't notice the differences between ARC VOOM and SAT VOOM. Sure, the graphical differences were obvious, but the gameplay seemed intact to me.

Still, VOOM was one of my favorite games on the Saturn, and VOOT remains my favorite game of all time, even though I can't beat it.
