Thread: August NPD charts.

  1. i wonder if they could work like Used sales into this too

cause i know the people i work with will pushed a used copy over a new copy every time so i wonder how much that would change things if they took used copies and such into account

Just do what I do- disregard the Sports games since they really don't count.
That type of attitude is exactly why casual gamers don't give a fuck about niche games.

The whole,"Avoid one genre CUZ IT SUXORS CUZ I DON'T LIKE IT", but, "PLAY THIS GENRE CUZ I LIKES IT" crap is beyond counterproductive.

Holy freaking crap. Sega must've taken a bath on this one. I see commercials for it constantly - but those sales barely cover shipping.

  5. Sales for this game are slowly but surely picking up. It'll take a while for Johnny Knuckle dragger to figure out that there are two football games on the market worth buying; not just one as he previously thought.

No, everyone knows there's Madden and 2K, and 2K3's failure mainly has to do with two things.

    1) Konami took a giant, wet shit all over the ESPN license, and Sega is feeling some of the backlash from that.

    2) NFL2K3 changed around some of the play mechanics so it's more Madden-ish. It's just not NFL2K anymore, it's Madden-lite.

  7. Really.

Maybe it's because I live in Canada, but I think that 1) isn't relevent.

Point 2) however, well. From what I've heard there are minute differences that set them apart. But then again, what do I know; I don't play Football or understand it.

    You could be right.

Hmm... aren't many of the people who buy a console solely for the sports games exactly the sort of gamers many on this board complain about? Just thought I'd bring that up.

I rather enjoy staying a year or two behind on sports games. The people in-game make no difference to me, and I get what amounts to me as the same game as the current years for 1/10th of the price. Works out great.

When Joe Gamer walks into EB, I don't think he contemplates Zerodash's words of wisdom when he's deciding between Madden and Sky Gunner. Casual gamers don't care about niche games because they're football or skating fans and niche games just don't have enough football or skating.
