    Well what a surprise for me today. I go over to best buy to pick up Yoshi's Island... and what do I see sitting on their New Release DVD display table? Heavenly Creatures. I loved this movie when I first saw it, but it's been so long since I've seen it that I can barely remember it. It's been available on P&S (ick) DVD for a while now, but it's finally out in Widescreen. Unfortunately there's basically no extras but it was only $15 so that made up for it. If any of you haven't seen this, go out and get it now. It's easily one of Peter Jacksons best movies. With this now out, and a good version of Meet the Feebles due out sometime in the future, now we just need to get a features laden release of The Frighteners (like the LD) and the unedited version of Dead Alive (the UK version that would be) and I will be a happy man.

  2. Heavenly Creatures is a great movie. Ever seen Forgotten Silver? Its a fake documentary directed by PJ about a pioneer in film making, but he keeps having bad luck. Its pretty good. Then there is Bad Taste, but I've never seen it.

  3. I still have yet to see Forgotten Silver. I really need to get that one of these days. Bad Taste is fun... I bought the LE when it first came out. It's not nearly as good as Dead Alive, but it's still a damned good time.

    Well Viz will be releasing that here on DVD in the near future, but I'm not sure if it will be unedited or not...

    Are you saying the UK version is unedited or not? I just got a DVD player that can handle all DVDs and I too would like to get an unedtied version, and the PAL version is readily available...

    The Dead Alive Unrated version was released in the US by Trimark, in a very no frills DVD, with a average transfer. I haven't heard about a new Viz release. There were some edits done to the unrated US version though. From what I understand the UK release is the true uncut version... although it may have PAL video only which would cause a problem.

    Ok ignore my entire post because I am an idiot. You are talking about "Dead Alive" and I was talking about "Dead or Alive" (a Japanese film)--for some reason I saw an "or" in your Dead Alive and know that there is a UK version uncut and well...anyway...sorry about that...
