Yeah I'm exited about that one, I love those hidden camera shows. The twist with this one is they play some nasty pranks against celebs like Justin Timberlake and Kelly Osbourne.

The two black guys in the "I'm a Gamer" commercial that scream "we didn't land on Capcom, Capcom landed on us" used to work at my local Funcoland.

I'm embarrassed for Funco, really.

the funny think i saw in the commercial looked like a clip of street fighter ex 3
i hope its not those guys who yelled about capcom, cause if you are going be all about that at least pick a good capcom game

Somebody should rip this into a mpeg/divx avi for me. After all, it is a MTV show so nobody gets hurt with the "piracy" of the episode. And by gum I need some laughs.

Beat me to it. This is gonna be the gamer's version of "Trekkies" if it works out the way they want.

I just watched it, here are some impressions:

It wasn't as horrifc as I thought it would be. The show revolves around 4 segments:
A clan names "Holy Light" or something, not too sure of the name. Basicly it's 6 guys who love games and split the bill for housing and shows how they live. Most of them work night shifts at Fed Ex and play games whenever they get the chance, the living room has 4 TV's and every main game system. We see them play mostly PS2 and Xbox games. Pretty straight foward, pretty high on thr dork-ometer.

Billy the Pac-Man world champion. Shows what he did and what he's up to now. Pretty interesting, shown in a neutral light, although he is a bit odd. He loves what he does though.

Graig, Gold Tee Champion- shows how he lives off his game winnings and how he's now trying to become a pro golfer. They follow him through a Golden Tee tourney as well.

John "Fatal1ty"- World computer game champion, shows him going through the Cyber Athlete Tourney in Texas (plays Unreal Tourney 2003). Show what he does to be number one and how he makes his living. He estimates he's won $150,000 worth of cash and prizes in the past 3 years.

Basicly they show a group of causal gamers, and 3 top tier/pro players. I don't think it put gaming and gamers in a bad light, it just shows what "hardcore" gamers do. Nothing but play games. The "clan" just play games every chance they get, while Graig and Fatal1ty treat gaming as a job. So when they play for 8-10 hours a day it's "practice" and "training". There are a total of 3 girls in the entire show in case you're wondering.

If there's one thing I've learned about MTV it's that you never need to tape anything they show (except maybe music videos). It will be shown at least 3,000 more times.

why was it banned?

PTM burned the Constitution, and they made them change the credits when it says "Frank Zappa as the Pope" to "Frank Zappa as the funny guy in the little hat." There may have been something else, but it's been awhile. I think I have the uncut episode somewhere.

And if I recall correctly, 1 person wrote a letter complaining and Nick pulled the episode. Stupid executives.
