Thread: Sega to team with D3 on budget titles

  1. ]

According to http://www.the-magicbox.com , Sega and D3 have formed a new company of which Sega owns 51% and D3 has 49%, the focus of developement will be CLASSIC SEGA TITLES ported to the PS2 at budget prices.

And now I pray with every fiber of my being that these ports don't suck *cough* Camera Man music *cough*. *-neo

  2. Very great.

What the hell ever happened to the whole "we're bringing SS games to the PSone" plan from a while back? Is this a kind of revised plan, perhaps?

Ports seem to be flooding systems from left and right nowadays. Geepers.

  3. Wow. This is some excellent news. I'm all for it.

  4. You all bow down to the mighty "Racing", and its sequel "Ford Racing".

Everytime I saw a copy of Racing I wanted to pick it up just because of its great title. It's Racing!

Those plans died along with the original playstation. Have you seen what comes out for it now? Truly, truly sad shit. I wouldn't mind Saturn ports, but I know realistically it a. won't happen or b. won't come to america.

  6. D3 has put out some pretty impressive Simple 1500 games, such as Taito's "The Jintori- Volfied 1500". Not only does this include the arcade one (the only catch here is you can't Tate it), but it also has an arranged version that isn't bad. A "crappy pocket change" title? Not at all. In fact, this one in particular is hard to turn off.

I'd like to see ports of Super Hang-On (that Genesis version is rather sluggish) and Enduro Racer. A Shinobi compo with the two arcade versions on it wouldn't be bad either.

    Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)

I never really pay attention to what's releasing on the PS over here in the US and don't think I want to..

Yea... SS ports... One can always hope, eh?

  8. Consider yourself lucky for not looking. Some of the worst licenses you'll ever see are being made into games. I think I can remember seeing some edutainment(I hate that word) games too, which is ironic, seeing as how former sony president Jim, uh, something swore that those kinds of games would never be released on playstation.
www.classic-games.net updated every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

  9. Anyone else notice how the company is called "3D-Ages"? And if I remember correctly Segas classics ports were all under the label "Sega Ages" Games like Fantasy Zone, Space Harrier, After Burner, Out Run etc. Those games were all 2D in nature. 3D-Ages hints to me that they will all be Classic Sega games that were 3D polygon games. Sooooo, who know what we might get for $20. Panzer Dragoon? Burning Rangers? Sonic R? Who knows.

And according to Magicbox D3 is looking into brining the Simple 1500/2000 seires to america under that name. Note they said "looking" into it, so its not a solid fact. I don't see why they should'nt at least bring the Sega games over. Chances are a lot of us would buy everyone of them.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

The SpecOp games (at least the one I have) are actually decent for anyone that has actually played them. It's actually easy to bash stuff like the ArmyMen games when it's the popular thing to do.
