This is weird...about a year ago, I was most excited about the Xbox, its potential, the games coming out for it, particularly the Sega stuff.
Now I couldn't give a damn about the big things coming to the Xbox...Rare, gah, MGS3, gah...
If you guys mean that MGS2's storyline sucked ass, then I won't argue. But gameplay-wise, the boss fights, the sneaking, the fight against Metal Gear Ray was awesome...

Agreed. As I've said before, I'm always surprised at the amount of MGS2 hatred. The story was goofy, but no more so than dozens upon dozens of other supposedly story-driven games. At the same time, the game was very polished, and it generally looked and played beautifully (with perhaps a couple of exceptions.)Originally posted by SearchManX

That said, I expect upcoming MGS titles to likewise be worthy of purchase, and a least a little anticipation, regardless of which consoles they land on.

I'd agree with you on that one. I replayed MGS shortly before MGS2 arrived last year, and nearly broke my controller out of frustration with the game. MGS2 for the most part played much better, with the only exception being the boss fight w/ Solidus at the end. My gripe w/ MGS 2 is that not only is the story bad, but it also manages to piss all over the story of MGS1 at the same time.Agreed. I'd have to agree that the end fight was way too easy... the other boss fights were very cool.Originally posted by GameCynic

Sweet Christ... the game hasn't come out yet, and already it sucks?Originally posted by cka
Metal Gear stopped being purchase-worthy at Solid 1. X-Box can have all the metal gear exclusivity it wants.
