Old Sonic Look vs New Sonic Look

I gotta go for Sonic 2 Sonic, just because I am fonder of the Genesis games than I am of the "30% Sonic" Adventure games on DC.

Whoa, I recongnize Spaz's name on there but his design of Sonic is radically different from the way he used to do it. I still love his art, but I don't like the way the hands are done in that pic. Too much detail or some such.

i thought this poll would be devided into game character sprites. i don't really care what the sonic artwork looks like. though, i prefer the character sprite from sonic 2 on the genisis. it was very nice and fluid looking as far as animation was concerned. sonic 1's sprite was ok, and sonic 3 and knuckles sprite just looked too artificial and plastic.

Yeah, I agree about the hands. They look out of place. But I love the rest. The other covers are good too. I redid the Sonic on this one for a shirt for my son. Turned out pretty good too.

I like both designs, but the old one has a slight edge over the new one. Sonic looks like he's border-line psychotic now...

No shit. I'd like, just for shits sake, to see Sonic done my that artist. It's my opinion that that guy and whoever the hell is in charage of art direction at Smilebit to be perhaps the most talanted hands in gaming to day.

Picked new, looks cooler same attitude. Tails also looks the same except for the hands and feet so I don't think much changed.

I voted for the new one. I like them both, but change is good. The old look is the cool kid in the sixth grade class. The new look is the kewl high school senior. I remember seeing some drawings of the new Sonic and thinking it had an urban look, with the blue fringe looking like dredlocks. Good move, IMO.
