Sony ads suck. Worse than most their games even.

Seriously, I hate 'concept' advertising. They are never as funny as they try pathetically to be.
I beg to differ, for I believe the Mark of Kri ad is among the best ads of the year (tied with The Terminator). The Mark of Kri ad is particularly bad.
When Sony's ads are actually promoting a game, they are great, but when they have no general direction, and are not really promoting anything, then they are just awful. You see the one with the cops talking to some guy in their squad car? Trash.

The only ads I am not a huge fan of are any kind of "brand name recognition" ads. Anything that has no purpose other than to get the word "playstation" for example, into the heads of consumers.
They suck pretty hard.
That one where the guy is looking through the pics of animals sure would be a good Animal Crossing commercial though...

Yeah, or the kid whispering to his Grandma about finding the magic stones. They are making the same kinds of generalizations that the general public and media have been portraying in regards to gaming for years. You would think a corperation thats actually apart of the industry wouldn't do that.

Then you remember that it's Sony...
Well, I'm fairly certain that Sony doesn't have their own creative department. They've probably just picked a new agency or something. It's the equivalent of Chiatt-Day or whoever has the contract that's mucking up the ads.
Also, I'm sure Sony's not spending a whole lot on creative right now as no one seems to be, that's why the commercials for almost everything have been pretty generic for the past 2 years.
I actually liked the one with the grandmother whispering about the "silver dragon". It seemed very mystical and all that... but yes, I was confused that there was no actual game attached to it...
Name: Rock
Town: Arcadia
The one with the kid and his mother visiting the grandmother in that retirement home was a little retarded. But for the most part, Sony's ads are decent.
Though I have yet to see that Mark of Kri commercial everyone's spoken of, I'd really like to see what it's all about![]()
