Thread: New OXBM: Demo movies get the thumbs up!

  1. Yea, football sucks.

    But I ignored that section.

And in commemeration of my insanity and my love of OXM, new sig/avatar time!

That is my guess as well. I would not be surprised if those "movies" were actually real time 3D. They certainly looked great.

The funniest thing about the disk: I looked at the Infogrames Superman movie right after viewing the Ninja Gaiden movie. Ha ha ha ha!!!! Superman looked like a high res N64 game. The funny thing was that the Ninja Gaiden video showed looooooong continuous gameplay shots for us to oogle over. The Superman video showed many 1.5 second clips in quick succession to simulate "action" and not let us really get a good look. To late. I looked.

  3. Hey, even the Superman clip was better than the Dark Angel one. That was all prerendered stuff that looked a lot worse than what DOAV was doing in the game engine.

DOAV, Gaiden, and Orta all looked incredible though. I'm pretty sure now I'll enjoy all three.

  4. I was wondering why they have a Panzer Dragoon Orta mini strategy guide in the new issue of OXBM?! by the way the beginning of the guide reads it makes you think you can go out and buy it that month... but it is listed as Spring 2003 release

  5. It was delayed... remember? The guide and review were written and to the presses before it was delayed, obviously. Blame Sega for giving them a review copy, then delaying it...

  6. Sega GT 2002 needs a good display - otherwise the game looks less than adequate (after tasteing Rallisport).

    I never blamed the mag.
    Just the mag's discs.
I know MS makes them, as Sega and Sony made and make theirs, respectively.

I noticed that too, maybe a demo of them isn't too far away? Those two are definately running in the engine, the Xbox resets unlike when playing a video stream.

And DAMN does Tecmo know how to code on an Xbox or what?!

  9. So am I the only one who found Lucy's Audition somewhat amusing?

Those were in-game shots. Which is a little mind-bending when you consider that the graphic quality is virtually the same as the pre-renders from the E3 trailer. Actually, I think it looks better than the E3 trailer.

Team Ninja sure knows how to make the Xbox sing.
