Thread: Sega Fantasy Zone - coming to PS2

  1. Maybe Agetec will pick it up for the US and put it on their A1 label.

I can just picture the box art with a big picture of Opa Opa, with the Giant Sans-serif title "SHOOTER"

I've never played Fantasy Zone on any platform... I know, I know! I'm lame!

As for SMGP, please oh please let it be the arcade version..

I'm aware of that. I played it in an arcade in Ann Arbor, actually. I just wanted to differentiate between the barely enhanced versions on the PSX Namco Museums and the wonderful ones on the PS2.

  4. Fantasy Zone can't be all that bad, especially if they include an Arrange version.

Two games I'd like to see are Enduro Racer (no real home version of it exists) and Super Hang-On (the Genesis one is complete garbage since it is so sluggish).

    Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)

  5. Enduro Racer (no real home version of it exists)
    Two words...Master System.

    Later all...

The SMS version of Enduro Racer isn't a port of the arcade game. Activision's computer versions were though.

  7. I've tried the C64 version and it's rather pathetic with slow and jittery 3D. There have been some good words about the Sinclair Spectrum one, on the other hand.

Isn't there an Amiga version too? I imagine that one might be decent.

Still, I agree that we are long overdue for an arcade-perfect port of Enduro Racer.

  9. Enduro Racer just wouldn't be the same without the bike. Luckily my arcade still has the game. Getting moved firther and further back though... maybe I should ask about buying it.

I actually did really love the SMS version of ER. I heard the japanese version was much better as well (twice as many levels), but I haven't tried it. But yeah, it's a completely different game.

I still like SMS Enduro a lot. It's basically isometric-Excitebike and it's great fun.

Arcade Enduro Racer is still fun without the bike as MAME has shown me.
