Thread: Ikaruga [DC, GC, XBLA, PC]

  1. Wouldn't it be sweet if they put an Ikaruga minigame on the VMU kinda like that Ika sim game? That would rule. Listening Treasure?

Really? I only use my VMUs for games that need it - I can't stand that screeching every time I plug one in. Do you have the official 4x or a 3rd party? All I can say is my Sega one turned out to be alot more reliable than the Pelican one somebody gave me...

well, what he's talking about is a backup copy of gunbird 2, so what you wanna do is make sure you have the original game before you do this..

    got it? ok..

what he probably did was take his own, already-burned-to-CD copy of Gunbird 2 and upload the contents to his HDD..
he probably then followed directions found at a site such as dccopyworld.com to enable VGA in games that weren't originally set to enable VGA..
this might be as simple as a patch, or as complicated as editing hex code in a binary file...
then he reburned the contents on another CD..

good luck.. this may or may not work on your first attempt..
MK2 on XBLA plz - let the unfolding of gameplay begin!!

  4. According to Gamespot, the game will feature letterboxing on the sides of the screen to capture that vertical feel.

    That and other details here.

I don't think that's quite the way to put it.

There are two ways. One is to do what you said, which can be a pain.
My prefered way is to downlaod a boot disc with a VGA force on it.

I reccommend the boot disc, since a lot of people tend to get all high and mighty about using backups. I love my backups. It keeps the collector in me happy (no scratches on my originals) and the gamer in me happy (I can play my games, instead of looking at them)

Fun fact. Bangaio in VGA takes up 1/8th of the monitor. But... uh, the resolution sure is sharp. Yeah...

Whenever I force Bangai-O it's glitchy as hell, like LJN came back from the grave and ported the game to NES. But yeah, in ultra-hi res.
And a word of advice; some games you just can't force at all, like the first three SNK ports.

And Mode - nice sig, what's the image from?

  10. That Gamespot article is idiotic. Makes it sound like there won't be a TATE mode if you're misinformed.
