After what happened to RS, the last thing we need is a highly limited run of Ikaruga limited to only those who live in Japan. I can already see the $500+ Ebay prices...

"Sega revealed today on their D-Direct service, an internet shop where gamers can purchase Sega goods, that people who preorder Treasure's upcoming Dreamcast shooter, Ikaruga, will receive a Limited Edition postcard featuring art from the game. Obviously, this doesn't nearly match up with other special packages released in Japan, but it will obviously add more collectible value to a game that is going to be highly sought after. Preorders open today, but there's no indication as to how long the postcard version of Ikaruga will last."

I doubt very very much it will be d-direct only. Everyone will be able to get a copy no problems.

NCS seemed to have no problem stocking Vampire Chronicles for people that preordered it once they had their distribution lines set up and checked.

Read NCS's preorder info below--I'm sure they have worked this all out with Treasure already--if it comes out, whoever ordered it should be getting it--


"New preorders for Ikaruga are welcome. -----NCS will stock enough quantities of the game to fill any and all preorders up until the game's release this fall and our stock will probably last for a year after that.------ Preorders for Ikaruga will be processed during the week of September 05, 2002 over an expected span of three days due to the large amount of preorders for this game. If we receive the game on September 5 then orders will ship out on Sept. 05, Sept. 06, and Sept. 07 with early preorders shipping first."
