Finally, I propose that this thread be ceremoniously closed some time after Sept. 5.

That was always my intention...however the high score thread I think will need to be firmly held to score related/strategy discussion and score posting.

Agreed.

Perhaps the creation of an "Ikaruga impressions" thread is in order, reserved specifically for thoughts on the game and other non-strategy or score-related posts? Although I suppose that would simply spawn another mammoth thread I'd rather not see.

Umm why? A impressions thread would probably have 300-400 messages, part of the reason this thread got so big was a massive amount of speculation in the first months.

And closing the Ikaruga thread is definitely a good idea as it has become a bit cumbersome to navigate. *-neo

I think Mode7 should maintain the Ikaruga high score thread... That's his kinda thing and he makes them look so purty, too!

Closing this thread probably would be a good idea, sleeve. But another one is sure to pop up and grow to the size of... well, something quite large... when people start posting impressions and whatnot.

If I could, I would print this thread in its entirety. Never before have I witnessed such a rollercoaster ride in anticipation for a game. Unlike other "game tales" of this ilk, this one has a HAPPY ending- plus we may well get a domestic release (GCN) to boot.

I want to read this thread years from now- and cherish the memories...
