    Nope...

Anyone still playing Iky regularly? I kinda stopped over a good month ago, for some reason or another.... [Lack of progress?]

I'll have to get back to it in on winter break, perhaps.

Seems like an appropriate occasion to bump the Ikaruga thread. We missed you, old friend!

  3. As a matter of fact, I'm planning to put in some hours this weekend...to raise my position on the TNL scoreboard, at the very least.

  4. i've been playing a bit.. last night, actually.. but only managed to reach the #2 spot on my high score chart.

parts of the game are too difficult to master because they're located later on in stages, and are difficult to repeatedly and quickly access for practice, even through practice mode (you have to go through the first part of the stage first).

    *edit*

anyone still have or have links to the strategy videos? i have a few, but my collection isn't complete, so if anyone can help w/ that, or wants to trade, etc... gimme a holla
MK2 on XBLA plz - let the unfolding of gameplay begin!!

  5. I'm currently giving my Dreamcast a rest, but I popped in Iky the other night for some kicks. To my surprise, I actually managed to beat Trial Mode and unlocked the first art gallery! Yay! I also managed to get 1.7 million in stage 1, with a B++ ranking, my best so far. Nooch. I really really hate the beginning part of stage 2 with the small plane swarm. I can't seem to chain there at all.

Total play time so far... 3½ hours, abouts. That's why it's in my pile of shame.

EDIT: Crap, I just remembered that I'm playing in Easy mode since I'm still a beginner. I guess that renders my stage 1 score meaningless to the rest of you.

Ummm... what the hell is up with the video on that site? Is the game really gona run like that? I hope to hell that's not how they plan to "adapt" it for the "GC audience". It moves like molasses.

EDIT: OK, it's optional... It's a new "Slow play" mode that lets you play at half speed.

  8. Wow. A 2000+ post thread on a shooter.

Is any more proof necessary that this is the greatest game forum on the planet?

That was one of the first things I saw when I came here. "Look at the massive Ikaruga thread!... Surely this is home!"

  10. i dig that slow play mode.. seems like it could be really useful for practice.. and the online ranking thing sounds great, although they should add an option to just upload your score via modem or BBA, so we can skip that damn password crap every time we wanna up a new score.

at first, it seemed impossible for me to chain that whole mess in the beginning of chapter 2.. then i used the strategy video to see exactly what to do, and with practice, i did it, and now i can do it every time without breaking a sweat..

in ika, practice mode is your savior.
