A quick public service announcement: If you were planning on getting this game for GC, you better act fast. Initial shipments have been very limited, ranging from 1 to 5 copies per store, depending on the amount of pre-orders. My EB games only had 1 copy come in because no one bothered to pre-order it. All three Gamestop chains in my area received only enough copies to fulfill pre-orders. Luckily I was able to secure that one copy tonight, but you may not be as lucky.
And for those who were wondering, that lame IGN quote is still plastered right on top of the cover....![]()

The Vertical 2 display mode allows you to play the game using the full screen, but in doing so the game ends up playing like a Horizontal shooter. I would suggest that instead you set up a gamer's hammock, and play the game in Tate mode while lying on your side.Originally posted by kbuchanan
Is there a way to play this full screen without changing the vertical(I can't turn my big screen on it's side)? Thats my biggest complaint. The images are too small.

And why did Atari feel necessary to put that inane ign quote on the cover?![]()
I couldn't resist buying it again anyway.
when i went up to the counter in EB, the guys there were making jokes about the 'frothing' IGN quote..
MK2 on XBLA plz - let the unfolding of gameplay begin!!
after playing it some more i have to say docking the game for difficulty is most deffinetly ok
i think a even slightly toned down difficulty would make the game ALOT more enjoyable
seems even on normal mode unless your a shooter god like Mode 7 your gonna die in some parts
It's not all that hard really. I can beat the game on one credit on the Normal difficulty (in Challenge mode--which means arcade settings of 3 stock lives and a new life at 3 million then every 5 mill after that) regularly now (in both Arcade and Prototype modes), and I have gotten all the way to the final chapter's last boss without dying on more than one occassion. Once you figure out the patterns in each level, it becomes rather easy. Chaining is where I fuck up the most (I rarely die before the 5th level now), it's really hard to put together 5 quality level scores in one run and finish with some lives left for a nice bonus at the end. I always die 2 or 3 times in the last 60 seconds of the game!!Originally posted by Shin Johnpv

Anyone else notice how many IGN scores are posted on the net-ranking? look for all the names that have the "-IGN" tag at the end of them. Looks like lots of their staff is posting scores. Too bad they all suck at this game!!![]()
dude the game is hard maybe your a shooter god but for us mere mortals the game is fucking hard
i love shooters but im not that great at them and this just kicks my ass
i can make it through the first chapter with out dieing most the time but theres parts in chapter 2 that just destroy me
It's all about how much you practice. Believe me, with time level 2 becomes a BREEZE and you'll be laughing at how easy it is (especially the boss! It become so incredibly easy once you figure out how to beat it). The hardest level for me is still level 3, it's hard to keep the chain going there because it's so fast paced. When you get to level 4 you'll think "my god, this is IMPOSSIBLE". It seems that way, but once you figure it out it too becomes a breeze. It's all about learning the patterns in each level. Most levels are fairly slow paced (except 3 and maybe 5).Originally posted by Shin Johnpv

There are much more difficult shooters out there. Pulstar comes to mind. And Blazing Star. Try beating either of those on one credit!![]()
