Thread: Dolphin Blue from Sammy

  1. Who wants to start taking bets on our respective liklihood of playing this game anytime soon? Slim? Nil?

  2. I hope it doesn't get left on the japanese PS2 or in the arcade. Here's hoping for a US release or a release on an import freindly platform (read: DC or Cube)

Not exactly new, but I've never seen these screens.

    Bitching title screen.
It looks like a mix of 2D and 3D there, like Marvel vs Capcom 2.

  3. Well, if Sammy didn't even attempt a GGXX DC port, I think their days releasing DC games (OK, that plural was uncalled for) has already come to a close. Even though the Atomiswave is basically Dreamcast hardware, a Dolphin Blue port would be a no-brainer. Which is a shame, because as Frog said, importing on the DC is hardly an issue. I'd rather see it get a J-PS2 release than no console release at all, even though I still lack a solution for playing JP PS2 games.

don't wanna tangle with you, I'd rather tangle with him.
I think I'm gonna bash his head in...

    My thoughts.

But damn, I just want some new information about the actual game... Or, I should say: information, period. I think the cure for AIDS will be discovered before we learn anything new about this freaking game.

  6. IGN played it. They did not seem to like it.

And this guy gave Pen Pen Tricelion a good review, so...

  7. Would you like to copy the article here? I would just love to read what that incredibly esteemed and all-knowing establishment thinks about the game.

    Give me an "A!"
    Give me a "T!"
    Give me an "O!"
    Give me an "M!"<
Give me an "I" to the "S" to the "W-A-V-E."
    What does that spell?
    "Atomiswave!"
"Catch the wave of the future! Damage! Violence! Release!"
    "Atomiswave!"
    I can't hear you!
    "ATOMISWAVE!"
One more time for the disappointed stock holders:
    "ATOMISWAVE!!!"

This oh-so entertaining bit didn't do much to answer many questions, unfortunately.

  8. Appears to be insider only. I read another gent's opinions of it too and he wasn't pleased either, then again he disliked Gunstar Heroes.

Between Naomi and Atomiswave, DC hardware has become a mainstay of Japanese arcades, shame it hasn't transferred over to the home front. *-neo

  9. Don't think copying the entire article here is kosher, but an excerpt's ok, right?

"While playing another Atomiswave game, we looked over to this title and decided that it looked pretty neat... Nope, we were wrong. This is not Metal Slug in any way. Boring gameplay, choppy PSX level graphics and the sheer absurdity of using a pink-colored dolphin to ram into enemy armaments and set them ablaze made us want to hunt down the creator of this game and demand our ten minutes back."

  10. I'm sure people have done it before...

    Succumb to the pressure...
