Thread: Saw the gayest PS2 ad ever on TV last night...

  1. Naah, Havent seen this one. Havent watch much tv lately anyway

  2. Oh how I long for the old Sega Game Gear ad with the dude smacking himself with a dead squirrel so he can see colors with his GameBoy. That shit was high-concept art compared to the shit nowadays.

What is this r-e-a-d word you speak of? It seems familiar yet distant...

  6. I like most of the new "Live in your world, play in ours" commercials. Catchy tag line.

  7. I thought the gayest commercial was the first Mario SunShine one

  8. That was the most disturbing one. Well, since the JGR ads at least.

Yes, if you are talking about gay as in homosexual.

The brand recognition ads for PS are gay in that they are just stupid.

Comparing the ads to Nike ads is not a good comparison. Videogames are not sneakers (duh!). I stress the word video. Playstation (or video games) is a visual media and it's ads should reflect this. Some high-art concept advertisment does nothing. It dosen't do anything but to massage the egos of fanboys that already know what PS is.

It's just like the gay Saturn marketing Sega did before launching the system.

The only people who know what the fuck they just saw, are the people that don't need any more advertising.

Sony doesn't need anymore advertising period. They're too far ahead already.

And I fail to see how advertising sneakers should be different than marketing a console. Sony isn't marketing videogames, they're marketing their console. Should they have footage of the boot up menu?
