I dunno. Sony seems to know what they're doing marketing-wise. Last time I checked they sold 40 million PS2s.Originally posted by JefmcC
Yes, if you are talking about gay as in homosexual.
The brand recognition ads for PS are gay in that they are just stupid.
Comparing the ads to Nike ads is not a good comparison. Videogames are not sneakers (duh!). I stress the word video. Playstation (or video games) is a visual media and it's ads should reflect this. Some high-art concept advertisment does nothing. It dosen't do anything but to massage the egos of fanboys that already know what PS is.
It's just like the gay Saturn marketing Sega did before launching the system.
The only people who know what the fuck they just saw, are the people that don't need any more advertising.

That's the ticket right there.Plus, they don't focus on a game so it appeals to non-gamers.
4 out of 5 TNL posters already have a PS2. 4 out of 5 non-nerdy people do not. Don't be a dumbass.
I still dont get it, as it makes gaming seem even more nerdy. Even with the whole, "Average people getting into games" thing. Just stupid and nerdy. Im sure they could come up with something more attractive than a nursing home and a mock generic RPG. The Kingdom Hearts baffles me too, but just as I said that at work the other day, no less than three people in the next hour came in and said, "Can I get Kingdom Hearts? I saw the commercial today, and it was awesome!". I guess its not mine to understand... whatever.Originally posted by Stibbons
