Thread: The "I Just Watched..." Thread

  1. Yeah, it's disposable entertainment, and the content is vapid.

There's a show on Amazon called Fleabag. It's really funny and insightful, and the characters are faceted. I like that the main character is kind-of of despicable and raunchy, and a woman, but her being a woman isn't the message of the show, it's just a fact of the character. I've only seen the first 3 episodes, but it's surprisingly thoughtful, and british without being overly british.

I don't understand how this is a movie. It's like the story mode for Injustic; an endless parade of character cameos with no development, story or motivation, all to set up action sequences that don't matter, and driven by a story that gets like 10 minutes of screen time in the whole movie.
The Honest Trailer they made is really good.

  3. Tapeheads with John Cusack is one of the most brilliant movies I've ever seen. Cleverness on par with Idiocracy. Random cameos with stiv bators and jello Biafra too.

  4. I kept seeing the LD of Tapeheads for sale and didn't know what to make of it. It was a buck! I'll grab it next time.

  6. That used to air right next to the original Mighty Mouse and the Woody Woodpecker / Chilly Willy half hour... I didn't quite understand why it was different at the time, but I sure liked it better!

I just grab anything I see that's a dollar. I've bought a few stinkers, but it's also made me discover some classics that I never would have watched, like Leon The Professional which is one of the most badass movies ever.

  8. I usually roll the dice. That said I have a pretty good stack of discards at this point.

To be fair, all the character development was done in the other movies. The only redeeming thing is the fight scene, and it didn't really matter.
